Setup Example for Equilibrium States of Torques
The equipment and items for experiment
Meter stick; balance support; hinge; hooked mass set; string; force
sensor; right angle support clamp holder; V-groove (Table) clamp; a long
aluminum bar; a small aluminum bar
|
The is the first part of the experiment to check out the related formulas. Use the force sensor,
a meter stick, and weights. The stick must be balanced; in other words, the stick must be
horizontally at rest.
This is for the second part. In the first place, find the center of mass of the meter stick.
Add a weight and make this balanced by changing the position of the weight.
Notes
What is the definition of torques? How is it different from force?
